Return to Project pageLinganore Vineyards and Wine Cellars have been using Full Circle’s mushroom compost here on the vineyards for eleven years. Preferring a green approach, Eric Aellen, the vintner, does not use any kind of fertilizer on the vineyards. Using the compost at seven cubic yards per acre, they have seen an improvement in the plant quality, and quality of the wine that is produced from these grapes. Eric goes on to say, “The mushroom compost is perfect for our grapes, as it keeps the pH higher and adds organic matter to the soil. In addition, the compost increases the calcium content that helps root and vine development.”
