Return to Project pageWhen faced with constructing a soccer field on poor soil, the Park Department and contractor agreed “going organic” would be the green thing to do. As a result the amendment of choice included 260 cubic yards of pasteurized mushroom compost. This has resulted in better moisture retention and less compaction thus allowing the fields to recover more quickly from use.
